Dr. Marshman serves as an advisor to several NYS and National Organizations, including the Milk Marketing Advisory Board, New York Farm Bureau, the National Agri-Women, the NBT Regional Advisory Board, UHS - Chenango Memorial Hospital, and the Agricultural Workforce Development Council, to name a few.

During Dr. Marshman’s tenure at SUNY Morrisville, she developed the college’s four-year degree in Agricultural Business Development, co-authored the college’s MS in Food and Agricultural Business, and created Morrisville Fresh. This unique student-operated experiential learning business generates income and teaches the students valued soft skills. In 2016 she was awarded the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Service. In 2021 she received the Frank Pace award: IESC Announces Frank Pace Award Winners – Dr. Sheila Marshman and Ms. Caroline Kosgei - IESC and 2022 she was named the Distinguished Faculty of the Year. Marshman is a graduate of LEADNY Class 11.

Dr. Marshman also serves as a financial consultant for NY FarmNet, a mentor for Grow-NY, a mentor for the Northeast Dairy Innovation program, and is a consultant for the International Executive Service Corps.
