Medical Office Administration A.A.S.

Be just what the doctor ordered.

The SUNY Morrisville Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in medical office administration will provide you the necessary skills to become an integral part of a health care team.

With many courses offered online, this flexible program will teach you about medical terminology, medical coding and billing, medical transcription, computer software applications and office management.

You also will fulfill a 90-hour internship during your second year of study, providing you with direct hands-on experience in the field that may even turn into full-time employment.

Upon graduation, you’ll be qualified to work as a front-end office manager or administrative assistant in a variety of health care facilities; have a background of the billing and coding processes in medical offices, hospitals and insurance companies; or be a medical transcriptionist for medical facilities.

You also have the option to continue your studies by easily transferring into various four-year SUNY Morrisville programs such as business administration, entrepreneurship & small business management or technology management.

Scholarship opportunities also exist for medical office administration students. Check out if you qualify by visiting Scholarships and Awards.

Dennis Clausen '20

Alumni, Medical Office Administration A.A.S.
I had a wonderful experience at Morrisville. My professors took the time to understand my specific needs and challenges as an adult-learner. As a result, I was able to learn and grow academically while continuing to work a full-time job to support my family. If anyone has concerns or reservations about pursing a college education, especially as an adult, they will find that that everyone is willing and eager to help them succeed. I will forever be grateful to Morrisville for making it possible for me to receive my degree.
